Abstract

Polish Academy of Sciences Consortium of Scientific Libraries in Warsaw since 1997 has been successively realising a project of fully integrated automated library system. The system based on Horizon programs is partly implemented at the moment in nineteen scientific libraries of the Consortium. The libraries in their current work mainly use Cataloguing and Public Access Catalogue modules, partly use Serials and Acquisition modules. To reach full functionality of Circulation module libraries should create bibliographical records of frequently lent items.

The aim of the project is to construct interdisciplinary information databases generated by the resources of Consortium libraries.

Those databases should improve accessibility to information of Polish and European research effort of sciences and human sciences.
